  • Flags and accessories to be presented to James Clemens HS JROTCJeremy Blevins and Nancy Burch to present them to Col. Taylor at 1400 on Wednesday, 10 October. Thanks to Carl Dow for procurement.
  • Trail of Tears T-shirt sale summary:
    • Net profit of ~ $1400.00
    • 140 shirts remained unsold
    • Next years order will be calculated based on this year’s sales
    • Thanks to everyone who volunteered, and especially Carl Dow for heading the effort!
  • Madison Street Festival (6 October 2012):
    • We registered four new members:
      • Brian Boardman
      • Charles and Amy Morelli
      • Bo Taylor
    • Given that the hedges outside the park all had booths set up in front of them, we did not have good visibility. Need to work on visible signage for next year.
    • We received $10.00 in donations toward our headstone wreaths project.
    • Thanks to those who volunteered their time to sit at the booth!!! 
  • Veterans Day activities:
    • Huntsville Veterans Day Parade (Morning, 12 November)
    • Madison Veterans Memorial Park (1400, 12 November)
      • Guest speaker will be LTC (ret) David Silvernail
      • Still need to coordinate band
      • Still need to invite local dignitaries
      • James Clemens HS JROTC to provide color guard (tentative)
    • Veterans’ graves flag project (10 November)
      • Nancy Burch is working with David Silvernail who will be providing Boy Scouts to assist with placing flags on veterans’ graves at the cemeteries.
